War Thunder
Below is the general tuning for War Thunder. War Thunder is more an arcade game vs a realistic sim experience so expectations of performance should be adjusted accordingly.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON MISSING PITCH, ROLL, & YAW MOVEMENT: Telemetry for pitch and roll in War Thunder is missing for certain aircraft. This includes the initial aircraft utilized for the training mission, many of the 1st tier aircraft as well a few in other tiers. This is not an issue with Sim Racing Studio, the telemetry for pitch and roll just does not exist for certain aircraft due to the buggy nature of War Thunder.
In addition, there are certain helicopters (Russian Ka50) that do not have Yaw telemetry available. War Thunder simply does not provide Yaw telemetry for these helicopters.
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE NEGATIVE MAX TELEMETRY VALUES: War Thunder's telemetry output for Yaw is opposite of what is found in the majority of flight simulators. The Yaw axis has been inverted in the General Tuning for use with motion platforms.
NO MOTION FOR GROUND AND NAVAL VEHICLES: War Thunder does not provide any telemetry for ground or naval vehicles. Thus, there will be no movement available for motion platforms.
JERKY MOTION WHEN FLYING: The output rate of telemetry from War Thunder is extremely low and will likely result in some jerky or "steppy" type motion when pitching or rolling over a gradual period of time. Effect Smoothing has been utilized to mitigate the issue as much as possible.
Required Adjustments Based on Platform
This motion profile was created on a PT Actuator 6DOF Simracing Platform (150mm: 7 Actuators (2 Front + 2 Rear + 2 TL + Surge). Since all motion platforms can be slightly different, please use the guidance below or utilize the quick tuning guide here for quick adjustments or the full guide here for detailed tuning information.
If no Sway actuators, reduce the Sway Effect Slider from 14 to 6.
If no Surge actuator, reduce the Long G Surge Accel/Decel Effect Slider from 17 to 7 & 15 to 6.
If no Traction Loss actuator, reduce the Traction Loss Effect Slider from 16 to 6.
IMPORTANT: If you have downloaded the motion profile from the SRS Cloud Share, it will utilize your default Spike Filter settings. If you do not increase it as indicated in the motion profile, your Spike Filter may engage often and motion will feel muted.
If you have a Sim Racing Studio Premium Add-on Subscription, you can download the profiles below in Sim Racing Studio using the Cloud Share feature. Click here to find out more information.Â
Notes: Many vehicles in War Thunder have buggy telemetry. The motion profile below might require adjustments depending on the aircraft utilized. Please utilize the tuning guides above to make adjustments.
