Microsoft Flight Simulator
Below are 3 options for the Microsoft Flight Simulator General Tuning to be used for all civilian aircraft and has been tested on the Cessna 152, Cessna 172 Skyhawk, Boeing 747, TBM930, Cessna Citation CJ4, and Airbus A320neo. Option 1 is recommended to utilize first as it it tuned to provide the closest flight performance to available telemetry. Option 2 and 3 are experimental profiles that attempt to help mitigate any notching/judder/stepping motion when performing very slow roll or pitch transitions by increasing the total amount of movement during those maneuvers.Â
Option 1 - This profile is tuned utilizing the correct max telemetries for the airplanes. This profile would be the recommended one to utilize if your platform does not exhibit any notching/judder/stepping motion when performing very slow roll or pitch transitions. Please try this profile first.
Option 2 - This profile has lowered Pitch and Roll Effect sliders to 12 each and Max Telemetries of 10 each. Long G Surge Effect slider is reduced to 8 and Max Telemetry down to 2. All other settings remain the same. These settings will increase motion speed to mitigate some of the notching/judder/stepping motion during very slow roll or pitch transitions. Use caution when performing large maneuvers and flight should be performed as realistically and and smooth as possible.
Option 3 - This profile has lowered Pitch and Roll Effect sliders down to 7 each and Max Telemetries of 5 each. Long G Surge Effect slider remains the same at the reduced value of 8 and Max Telemetry down to 2. All other settings remain the same. These settings will increase motion speed even more to mitigate the notching/judder/stepping motion during very slow roll or pitch transitions. Use caution when performing large maneuvers and flight should be performed as realistically and and smooth as possible.
Reducing the Max Angle to limit the amount of motion on Options 2 and 3 will just result in the same motion travel seen with Option 1; and thus, the notching/judder/stepping motion may return when performing very slow roll or pitch transitions.
WARNING: Aerobatic or high-performance planes like the Aviat Pitts Special S2S, Robin CAP 10, Extra 330LT, and the JMB VL-3 should use the Aerobatic/High Performance Airplane tuning below. Otherwise, the movement of the platform will be EXTREME. There will only be one profile provided for these aircraft as lower max telemetries would be too excessive.
PROFILE IN USE ISSUES: Microsoft Flight Simulator has a bug that will retain the last plane selected in flight or in the Hanger in the Profile In Use even when in the menu system. This is not an SRS issue. To edit the default tuning for Microsoft Flight Simulator you must exit the game and edit the profile in SRS.
